This weekend the Porsche Club of America sponsored an escape weekend to Dayton. An important regional event, it began Thursday with scenic drives, an party at a dealer, an Saturday evening dinner at John Dixon's Taj Garag museum, and finally on Sunday morning with a "Show and Shine," held at Dayton's Carillon Park.
Some sixty cars came to the "show and shine." There were Porsches of every decade and model, from some beautiful 365s to Caymans, Boxters, 996s, 964s, 944s, 914s, and of course many 911s. I am an air-cooled traditionalist, but that said, the more recent models are technically elegant and refined well beyond my 1971 911T.
